TheraWash®
Testimonials
While we make
no curative claims and only sell TheraWash® as a cosmetic bathing
system, our independent testing has shown remarkable results with its
continued use for bathing.
Test summaries
and actual case studies are shown below.
In vitro (laboratory) antimicrobial tests were done by Microbiology
Consultants, Inc. on (i) the formula and (ii) fabric swatches impregnated
with the composition, using accepted laboratory protocols. In the first
series of tests, the formula and the fabric swatches were 99% effective
against Staph. aureus, E. coli, and Candida. albicans. In the second
series, the formula and the swatches were 99% effective against
the new antibiotic-resistant "superbugs" MRSA and VRE, and also highly
effective against the Herpes Simplex Type I and Influenza A viruses.
The Director of Nursing conducted a controlled study of TheraWash®
at a nursing home and rehabilitation center in Florida in March and
April, 2001. The study included 35 geriatric patients: 25 patients bathed
with TheraWash® and 10 patients bathed with their normal bedside basin
baths or assisted shower procedures for at least one month. The study
director reported that patients bathed with TheraWash® were noted to
have improved skin condition (including the elimination of urine
burns, chronic dry skin, and minor skin tears and odor) in comparison
to the conventionally bathed patients. These results are believed to
be unique in that skin problems are an ongoing, difficult-to-treat problem
in geriatric patients using conventional products. An additional controlled
study specifically for improvements in skin condition is in progress.

This resident
is a white female with a history of diabetes and chronic skin
tears that are very difficult to resolve. Two months prior to
the study, there was documented that she had a total of six
skin tears recorded. At the beginning of the study there was
a skin tear on the right hand that would dry up but never seemed
to heal, as it should. This skin tear had occurred a week and
a half prior to the study. When the study was complete the skin
tear was resolved and the skin integrity seemed to be greatly
improved. There seemed to be more of a luster to the skin color.
This particular resident only received one new skin tear during
this study.

This resident is a white female that has severe osteoporosis
and Alzheimer's disease. She is wheelchair bound and is basically
total care for all activities of daily living. She bruises frequently
and has dry flaky skin. After using the TheraWash® product
her skin appeared smooth and soft. The staff found that by using
the TheraWash® product that their risk for injury decreased.
This lady is a two-person transfer with a hoyer lift.

This resident
is a white female with a diagnosis of diabetes and Alzheimer's
disease. She had 3 stage 2 pressure ulcers to the feet with
surrounding dry skin that was peeling. After using the TheraWash®
product for a month the surrounding skin was smooth and the
pressure ulcers were resolving stage 2's that were not open.

This resident
is a white female that has end-stage Alzheimer's disease that
requires her to have a tube feeding. She has had Clostridium
Difficile since January 2001. This causes increased diarrhea
stools that have been extremely excoriating to the peri area
and had even resulted in open bleeding areas. After a month
of using the TheraWash® product the areas closed and were
no longer bleeding. The buttocks remained red but skin integrity
remained intact.

RESIDENT
#17:
This resident
is a black male with Alzheimer's disease that wanders in a meri-walker
throughout the facility. He is legally blind and tends to push
his walker into inanimate objects. He frequently stands up in
his meri-walker and lowers himself on the center strap landing
on his knees. We frequently find bruising on the shins. Beginning
the study he had bruising to the shin area. He also had dry
scaly skin that would flake away when his clothes were removed
and replaced. Skin literally floated in the air. After the study
was complete his skin condition greatly improved. His skin was
soft and smooth and did not have any dry areas.

RESIDENT
#18:
This resident
is a black female that is combative during showers and suffers
from senila dementia with agitation and history of delusions.
Showers are always a task for the staff. The staff reports that
she continued to be abusive while participating in the study
but because of the decreased time that it took to use the product
that they actually sustained less abuse. This resident wheels
by objects and frequently bumps into things resulting in skin
tears. Prior to beginning the study a two-month review of the
medical record showed a total of 5 skin tears. At the start
of the study there were two skin tears identified. During the
month of the study the resident received one small skin tear
that healed in a week.
